Wyomissing, Pennsylvania – A Walmart shooting in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, left one person dead and another injured after a gunman opened fire in a parking lot.

The shots were reported before 4 p.m. local time, according to Reading Eagle.

Crew members found the victims at various locations in the parking lot in a chaotic landscape along State Hill Road, according to emergency reports.

“One person was shot and died,” said Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams, who was at the scene. Another person was injured but we don’t believe he was shot.

The two victims were reportedly found in different areas of the car park.

The store was closed during a police investigation.

Officials say the shooter is in custody.

He said the officer in Spring Township who was responding to the call apparently apprehended the gunman near the scene.

Shoppers and workers were locked inside the store for a short time. A store worker said he had to make sure customers were safe, but he had nothing else to say.

At least one vehicle was hit by multiple gunshots, as seen in photos taken at the scene.

At least one ambulance has left the scene and is on its way to Reading Hospital.
