Five people were stabbed in separate incidents on New York City subway stations this weekend.
And that’s since officials pledged on Friday to fight crime.

A New York Police Department spokesperson told CNN Sunday that no arrests have been made in connection with any of the incidents, and all five victims are in stable condition.

Police said the first stabbing incident this weekend occurred Friday night inside a Queens subway station, in which a man was stabbed by another man who fled the scene on foot.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with an arm cut and is expected to survive.
The NYPD said it has a suspect linked to the attack in custody.

The second incident occurred early Saturday morning inside another underground station in Queens.
New York Police said three men approached a 46-year-old man and demanded money.
A dispute ensued, and the victim was stabbed in the thigh.
He was transferred to a resident and is in stable condition.

On Saturday afternoon, around 2:50 p.m., an unidentified man punched a 20-year-old victim in the back.
She was on the northbound sidewalk inside a subway station in the Brooklyn neighborhood of eastern New York.

A verbal dispute ensued and the attacker stabbed the victim three times in the stomach. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene of the accident.
The woman was taken to hospital in stable condition, according to police.

At about 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, two men attempted to remove the property of one of the male victims. A struggle ensued and the victim was stabbed in the leg.

The NYPD said no property was removed, and the victim was treated at the scene by EMS.

Less than an hour later, a verbal dispute at the 116th Street station in Harlem left a man with an arm cut.
Police said he was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

Mayor Eric Adams, a former transit police officer, and New York City Governor Kathy Hochhol held a news conference Friday to announce the Subway Safety Initiative.

It also highlights the local, state and federal resources that the city will use to combat mental health and safety.

The accident came after the death of Michelle Alyssa Gow, an Asian American woman who was pushed in front of a Times Square subway on January 15.

About a week later, a 62-year-old man sustained minor injuries after being pushed onto subway tracks at the Fulton Street subway station in Lower Manhattan, police said.
