Man drowns in Georgia’s Lake Lanier
WADENA, MN – Wadina Near Hazardous Materials Fire, Warehouse Fire, Wadina Fire Department is asking city residents not to leave their homes on Monday afternoon, as a fire broke out near Hazardous Materials.
A protection order and alarm systems have been issued in place for the entire city of Wadena due to a massive fire that caused the combustion of hazardous materials.
In a Facebook post around 3:45 p.m., the fire department warned residents to avoid Interstate 10, followed minutes later by a post recommending that the entire city be housed in place.
Anyone who needed someone to house them was advised to go to Wadena-Deer Creek High School, where there is a safe room.
Just before 5 p.m., the Valley Police Department confirmed the fire in the Minnesota Valley Irrigation.
Police say smoke inhalation is not dangerous, alarm systems are recommending residents to close their windows and turn off their air conditioners.
In a statement, Valley Police claimed the smoke cloud was “not dangerous to breathe.”

She added: “We recommend that you close the windows and turn off your air conditioners.
We are asking everyone to avoid the area as it is causing a crowding of emergency equipment.”
