Texas mayor Matt McIlravy arrested
DENTON – Texas mayor and teacher Matt McIlravy arrested for online solicitation of a child, a second degree felony.
A report said that the mayor of a Texas town was arrested for soliciting a child online.
According to KTVT-TV, Pilot Point Mayor Matt McIlravy has been charged with a second-degree felony.
The station said the mayor, who is also a teacher, was arrested by an undercover Dallas police operation.

The 42-year-old was Matt McIlravy arrested on June 21 as a result of an undercover Dallas police operation.
His arrest is the culmination of a five-month investigation by the Dallas Police Department’s ICAC unit, the lead agency of the North Texas ICAC Task Force.
McIlravy is a married father of two who works as a design engineer and also serves as a men’s prayer meeting leader, according to his government filing.
He was recently elected mayor of a city under 4,000 north of Dallas.
His campaign page on Facebook did not mention any political affiliation.
Law enforcement officials said their ongoing investigations have revealed further communications with minors who have not been identified at this time.
McElrave was recently elected mayor of Pilot Point, Texas.
McClarvy’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Washington Post.
