Maricopa County, Arizona – Maricopa County deputies are searching for a man who drowned underwater in Lake Pleasant and did not surface on Saturday, marking the sixth consecutive weekend of accidents at the lake.
Representatives say the man was not wearing a life jacket when he drowned near South Parker Island at around 11 a.m. and was not seen by witnesses returning outside.
The search is ongoing, and no further details have been revealed.
Last week, a woman died after her leg was amputated in a boat accident on the lake. An 18-year-old was pulled out of the water the previous weekend in an apparent drowning accident.
Neria Aranbayev, 20, was found on the night of April 24, about 21 feet below the surface of the water.
On May 1, the body of an unidentified man was found 25 feet underwater near Jet Ski Point.
An 83-year-old woman died in the lake on May 8 after being thrown from her boat.
