SUV drives New Mexico
GALLUP, N.M. — SUV drives into New Mexico parade, injuring multiple people, A person in a large SUV through a parade in New Mexico on Thursday, injuring multiple people including two police officers.
The Albuquerque Journal reported that state police Lieutenant Mark Soriano said no one was killed in the Gallup accident and that he could not explain the extent of the injuries.
New Mexico State Police said on Twitter that the driver was in custody and that they were investigating the accident.
“Several people have been injured, including two Gallup Police Department officers, and are being treated on site,” the tweet said.
The parade was part of the celebrations of Gallup’s Intertribal Celebration, founded in 1922 to honor the heritage of Native Americans and Indigenous people.
