BRIDGWATER, Virginia – Police have arrested a suspect in the active shootings on the Bridgewater College campus, college officials said Tuesday afternoon, February 1.
Possible injuries related to the situation are not known.
College officials ordered everyone to stand in their place. WHSV also reported that Virginia-based police were at the scene.

Harrisonburg Police are also providing a helping hand in the search for the circumstances of the accident.
After the suspect’s arrest, the college wrote on Twitter: “For additional safety purposes, law enforcement officials will move through the buildings.”
The Bridgewater Community Center is closed in this atmosphere, and the city is asking people to help by avoiding the college and the surrounding area as well, until further notice.
“I have been fully updated on the situation at Bridgewater College,” Youngkin wrote in a tweet.
“The suspected shooter is in custody and state and local police are at the scene. I will continue to monitor the situation in conjunction with law enforcement.”
