South Street in Philadelphia

West Asheville shooting, Police investigating two deaths at Woodbridge Apartments
Philadelphia – At least 14 people were killed, three of whom were killed, when gunmen opened fire on a crowd on South Street in Philadelphia late Saturday night.
It happened on South Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets just before midnight.
Police said officers heard several gunshots, then saw several gunmen shooting into a crowd and then the city got alarm systems.
Philadelphia Police Inspector DF Pace said an officer fired a pistol at a shooter. It is not known if the suspect was hit, but they laid down their guns and fled.
Pace said the officer was “about 10 to 15 yards from the shooter, watching this guy shoot into the crowd” when he decided to engage — the height of none home security.
Police said at least 14 people were injured in the hail of fire. Three of them, two men and a woman, were shot multiple times and died in hospital.
“There were hundreds of people enjoying South Street, as they do every weekend, when this shooting broke out,” Pace said.
