Severe thunderstorm warning for Douglas County, hail the size of a pingpong ball could be.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Douglas County until 6:30 p.m.
The storm is moving from the northwest and can produce hail the size of a ping-pong ball with winds approaching 60 miles per hour.
A string of storms moving across southeastern Nebraska Saturday evening will bring opportunity for tornadoes and more hail to the Omaha metro area.
The National Weather Service has established a tornado watch for Douglas County until 10 p.m. Saturday.
The chance of rain in Omaha on Saturday evening is about 30%, according to the Weather Service.
The greatest chance of these fast-moving storms hitting the metro area will be before 6 p.m., said Taylor Nicholassen, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in the Valley.

“They are moving in a hurry, so we expect the affected people to have a fast-moving regime, and then it will be calm for the rest of the evening,” he said.
Precipitation is 20% through Sunday, with rain likely until 2 p.m., according to the weather service.
