Stockbridge, Mass. The suspect was in custody Wednesday morning after a chase closed a section of Mass Pike in western Massachusetts, according to state police.
State Police tweeted that active pursuit stopped at I-90 West just before Exit 3 in Stockbridge.
The highway section was closed while soldiers and negotiators worked to get the suspect out of the car.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area and look for alternative routes.
