Oak Forest, Illinois – A woman is detained after police responded to an active shooting in Oak Forest on Sunday afternoon.
The shooting took place around noon near the Food 4 Less store near 159 and Central Avenue.
Officers issued an alert advising residents to stay away from the area.
Officer and suspect, however, only the suspect’s injuries are considered life-threatening, according to officials.
The investigation is ongoing and the ISP has not released any further information regarding the incident at this time.
The woman was arrested and taken into custody.
Although there was no threat to the public, police still advised residents to avoid the area as authorities are still at the scene.
