Car theft suspect arrested in basement of Northwest Medical School
CHICAGO – Northwestern University’s Chicago campus was briefly closed Monday when police chased a carjacking suspect into the medical school building.
A text alert was sent to Northwestern staff and students on Monday afternoon warning them to “run, hide and fight,” “take adequate shelter,” and “lock and/or barricade doors.”

Chicago police said officers began tracking down the suspect after a carjacking incident at the 2000 W. Arthur Building in Chicago’s North Side around 12:48 p.m. .
As officers pursued him on foot, witnesses said they saw a man running into a Starbucks and going up the stairs to medical school.

A video clip showed policemen taking the suspect out of the medical school building in handcuffs.
