ELIZABETH, NJ – A New Jersey man is charged with attempted murder after he ran over a woman in a videotaped road rage incident.

Footage filmed by a neighbor’s CCTV shows a car on a residential street in Elizabeth on Tuesday reversing and then chasing the woman in a front lawn, as it slips and falls in front of the oncoming car.

Police and prosecutors allege that 56-year-old Vincent Jean was involved in a minor traffic accident with the woman.

He started following her after she started taking pictures of his car while he was trying to escape.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Jeanne allegedly drove his car over the victim, then backed it up and drove it again.

The 23-year-old woman was taken to hospital in critical condition. The Union District Attorney’s office charged Jane with attempted murder, aggravated assault and other crimes.

He had no attorney listed, according to the attorney general’s office.

Isaac, a witness who did not want to reveal his last name, told News4 New York: “He ran her over.
He ran on it again, three times.” It was his home camera that caught the horrific incident around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
“How can you do something like that? He flexed a flap, that’s it.”

Seconds after the first strike, a school bus appeared and blocked the driver, according to the witness…At this point the driver turned around and allegedly hit the victim again.

Prosecutors said Jan then sped away and left the injured woman on the ground.

A few hours later, police said they found Jane sitting in his wrecked SUV a few miles from the scene.

The 23-year-old woman was taken to hospital in critical condition.
