NEW YORK – Two people were stabbed on Saturday inside the Museum of Modern Art in midtown Manhattan and were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a city police spokesman said.
The accident occurred at around 4:15 pm, and the police are searching the building for a suspected man.

Initially, according to a familiar source, authorities believe that a former employee has returned to the museum and stabbed two people who work there. It is not believed to be a random attack.
Officers were still searching for a suspect and an investigation was underway, according to police.
Police say the victims, both women and museum staff, have been taken to Bellevue Hospital and are expected to survive.

The police officer, who received media inquiries by phone, told Reuters it was still uncertain whether any suspects had been identified or arrested.
