Truckee police said a bushfire that started late Thursday morning has resulted in evacuation orders being issued outside the North Lake Tahoe area.

Truckee Police says an evacuation order was issued just before 12 p.m. for TRK-E112 due to the Butterfield fire that broke out at the Tahoe-Truckee Sanitation Agency facility on Butterfield Drive.

Residents are advised to evacuate immediately and check Community.Zonehaven.com for updates.

According to the Truckee Fire Protection District, the bushfires have grown to about 5-10 acres.

Firefighters report a moderate prevalence.

Air support has been called.

Fire officials said the blaze was about 1:35 p.m. on 10 to 12 acres.
