RUDOSO, NM – A fire burning in Ruidoso has led to the evacuation of the area.
The fire also caused power outages, which now amount to 15,000 acres, according to the Lincoln National Forest.
THE McBride fire in Ruidoso, New Mexico is raging as multiple buildings have been destroyed and four schools are evacuated.
Fire officials say those who live in the Homestead Loop
and Lower Eagle
The Ruidoso North High School
and Moon Mountain
and Gavilan Canyon
and Paradise Canyon are subject to an immediate eviction order.
Evacuation orders have been issued to those living in the Homestead Loop, Lower Eagle and the area north of the local high school in Ruidoso.
In addition, Ruidoso Schools evacuated students at Sierra Vista School, and White Mountain School.
and Ruidoso Middle School, and Ruidoso High School.
The Ruidoso Convention Center was set up as an evacuation center for those evacuating the area.
High winds in the area also affected telephone, electricity and water services in the village.
The outlet also reported that Ruidoso village has asked residents to conserve water while crews continue to fight the fire.
