At least three people have died after as many as 25 cars were involved in a backlog on Interstate 95 in Florida, according to reports.
Several collisions with tractors, trailers and semi-trucks were reported in Edgewater after 1 a.m. local time Thursday.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said both lanes on I-95 in the town of Edgewater have been closed after a massive backlog.
It was reported that a semi-truck was involved in a collision that led to an explosion.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said some of the injured included children.
A photo from the scene showed a large ball of fire after the accident.
Paramedics reportedly tried to rescue some drivers from their cars as the fire continued.
The exact number of wounded is still unknown.

The highway is covered in thick fog as visibility has been cut to zero.
According to Spectrum 13, a heavy fog alert is in place until 7 a.m. in Volusia County.
