Maple Ridge road crash
On May 2, 2022, at approximately 5:59 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call stating that a pedestrian, who was walking along 14000th Street of Maple Ridge Road, was hit by a white truck and fled the scene.
Representatives and units from the Allen Township Fire Department and Marysville Fire Department responded to the scene.
When the deputies arrived, they found an unresponsive victim lying in a trench line.
Paramedics took the victim to Memorial Hospital and she was later transferred to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center by MedFlight.
The victim succumbed to her injuries and was identified as 41-year-old Angela N. LeMasters at the Milford Center.
Initial investigation found that the victim was walking the berm in a northwest direction on Maple Ridge Road, south of Collins Road.
The white van involved was traveling northwest on Maple Ridge Road when it hit the victim with the passenger-side front quarter panel and passenger side mirror.
Deputies and investigators from the sheriff’s office colorized the area and located the suspect vehicle in a home in the 21000 block of State Road 245.
The truck in question is determined to be the 2017 Ford F-250. Investigators have identified the alleged truck driver, but no charges have been brought against him at this time.
It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
The incident is still under investigation and charges are expected when the case is presented to a Union County grand jury in the future.
