Man Walking Home With Takeout Food Killed
A man was killed after at least 30 shots were fired near North Opal Street in North Philadelphia early Tuesday.
Police found a bag of food from a fast food restaurant late at night next to the man who was bleeding.
Scott Small, Philadelphia Police Chief, said the shooting took place shortly before 2 a.m. in the North Opal Street area.
Small said police officers arrived to find a young man shot at least once in the back on the ground in an empty yard. He died shortly after in hospital.
Investigators found evidence of at least 30 bullets being fired.
Looks like the guy just left a place to eat late at night.
Next to him was a bag of fresh food, Small said.
Small said the man’s last known address was about three blocks away, and he was shot dead.
Investigators did not reveal the motive behind the killing.
