Absecon, NJ – Police shot a person in Absecon on Tuesday, according to the Atlantic County District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities said the shooting took place at Dollar General, located on the 700 block of the new road.

A statement issued around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday said the office had no details of their immediate release. The office said that no police officers were reported injured in the accident.

It was not immediately clear who was injured or what their injuries were. Officials have yet to say what led to the officers opening fire at the store.

At about 1:30 p.m., officers were seen collecting in a bag a gun that was on the floor in the Dollar General’s parking lot, in Building 700 of New South Road, on Western California Avenue, near Holy Spirit High School.

Farren said the closure ended when authorities informed the school that “the threat has been neutralized,” although a shelter was still in place.
