Louisiana rapper JayDaYoungan shot
BUGALOSA, Los Angeles – Louisiana rapper JayDaYoungan shot to death Wednesday night in one of two “potentially related” shootings that occurred within 75 minutes of each other in his hometown of Bogalusa, according to police.
Bugaluza police confirmed the shooting in a Facebook post.
The 24-year-old rapper, whose real name is Gavorius Scott, was shot at around 5:50 p.m. and taken to a local hospital, according to the Bugaloosa Police Department.
The rapper, known for his songs “23 Island” and “Elimination”, announced his death a few hours later.
The rapper is known for some of his famous songs like “23 Island”, “Catch Me in Traffic” and “Muddy Situation”.
Police say a close family member identified as Kenyatta Scott, the father was also injured in the accident.
Just before 6 p.m. that evening, police received a call to the shooting in Building 600 on Superior Street.
Officers who responded to the scene stated that one of the victims was taken to the emergency room of Our Lady of Angels.
The second victim, Kenyatta Scott Sr., was also shot and taken to hospital in a critical condition.
A separate shooting took place around 7 p.m. during which “a car was shot, possibly due to the first shooting,” according to the Bugalusa Police Department.
No injuries were reported in connection with the second shooting. Investigation is underway.
Investigators say they are currently conducting interviews and working on leads.
