Charleston, South Carolina – Emergency crews were dispatched to a restaurant fire on the Savannah Highway Wednesday morning.
The Charleston Fire Department says the dispatch received the call shortly after midnight Wednesday to report a fire at Krispy Kreme on Savannah Highway.
Charleston Fire Department officials said the Charleston County Dispatch Center received a call regarding a fire at a donut shop off the Savannah Highway shortly after midnight Wednesday.
Emergency crews arrived in less than four minutes and reported seeing smoke rising from the one-story building.
“Crews were forced into the unoccupied building and the fire was contained in the fryer unit and the smoke from the building began to be vented,” Charleston Fire officials said.
Firefighters say there were no reports of injuries and the accident is under investigation by the fire department.
The Charleston and St. Andrews Fire Departments, Charleston County EMS and Charleston PD were dispatched to the scene.
