large fire at tire warehouse in southeast Atlanta

HOUSTON — A Harris County 7 deputy died in a fire accident Saturday on Beltway 8, halting all westbound traffic on Fondren Road, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said two vehicles were involved in the accident, including the Precinct 7 cruiser, which caught fire. The accident was reported around 6:30 p.m.

The Vehicle Crimes Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

Gutierrez was airlifted by Life Flight to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The accident happened just before 6:30 pm.

The MP was serving the citizens of District 7 when a car collided with a Representatives patrol vehicle.
