Happy Thanksgiving

I wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a Thanksgiving tonight, because everyone will be busy tomorrow with family and friends.
Thanksgiving is a national day whose purpose is thanksgiving and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest and the year that precedes it.

It is celebrated in Canada on the second Monday in October,
And in the United States on the fourth Thursday of November,
and other places around the same time.

We will present some selected information about Thanksgiving in some countries, and we will not show all the countries that celebrate the Evil Day, but for the reason of the simplicity of the article and not a detraction of its value.

Thanksgiving in Canada:
*It is held on the second Monday of October as mentioned earlier, and sometimes it is called Canadian Thanksgiving (outside Canada) to distinguish it from Thanksgiving in the United States, which takes place in late November.

*Thanksgiving has been (officially) held as an annual holiday since November 6, 1879.
Bearing in mind that the date varies by year and is not specified, it is usually the second Monday in October.

*The Governor General of Canada “Vincent Massey” issued a proclamation on January 31, 1957, saying: “One day of the year we give thanks to God Almighty for the bountiful harvest, the second Monday in October.”

Thanksgiving in the United States:
*It is a federal holiday, celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.

*It is also sometimes called American Thanksgiving (outside the United States) to distinguish it from Canadian.

*The celebrations are for the harvest from the previous year, and one of the most famous customs of the celebration is (dinner), which consists mostly of foods and dishes indigenous to the Americas, namely: mashed potato pies, stuffing, zucchini, Turki, corn, green beans, cranberries, apple pie, and pumpkin pie .

*Many charitable organizations celebrate by serving such dinners to the poor, hosting religious services, watching parades and celebrations around, and watching football matches.

*Also, Thanksgiving in America is a sign of the introduction of fall and winter and the advent of holidays and celebrations of the New Year, and Christmas.

Thanksgiving in Brazil:

*Ambassador Joachim Nabucco suggested to President Gaspar Dutra to celebrate Thanksgiving and fix a date for it, and he was very excited for that after living its events in Washington 1909, and accordingly President Gaspard set August 17, 1949 as Thanksgiving Day.

*In 1966, the law stipulated that Thanksgiving should be on the fourth Thursday of November, the day it was celebrated.
*This date is celebrated by many families of American origin, and some Protestant Christian denominations, for example:
Evangelical Lutheran Church,
The Methodist Church, and Methodist denominational universities.
*This day is also celebrated by evangelical churches such as Forskoble.

Thanksgiving philippines:
*The Philippines, while an American colony in the first half of the 20th century, celebrated Thanksgiving as a special public holiday on the same day as Americans.

*President Ferdinand Marcos revived it after the Japanese occupation, to be on September 21.

*But after the ousting of Marcos in 1986, the tradition no longer continued due to what happened in that period which made the situation unstable.

*As of 2020, Thanksgiving has been commemorated as a cultural holiday.
*Shopping malls in the Philippines led the way to celebrate the holiday as in the United States.
*Where shopping centers and hotels offer special rewards on this day, it is considered a prelude to the celebration of Christmas in the Philippines, which begins in September.

Wishing all your friends, families and home country a very Happy Thanksgiving.
