Jeff Gladney, the former Minnesota Vikings quarterback, was killed in a car crash early Monday morning, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
He was 25 years old.
Gladney’s agent, Brian Overstreet, confirmed that Gladney died in a crash near downtown Dallas, according to the NFL Network.
It was not immediately possible to obtain more details about his death.
Justin Jefferson, who was a Gladney teammate in Minnesota during the 2020 season, also used social media to pay his respects.
The former TCU star was selected by the Vikings with the 31st overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft and played in every game that season.
However, the team released him in 2021.
The Vikings issued a statement following the news of the executioner’s death, calling him “a lot of life lost too soon”.
