Actress Lindsay Perlman’s cause of death has been revealed six months after she was found dead in Los Angeles.
Perelman died of suicide from sodium nitrate toxicity on February 18, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner Service records obtained by NBC News.
Perlman, 43, has disappeared after she was last seen at her East Hollywood home on February 13, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Lindsey Perlman, 43, was found dead on February 18, 2022, near the intersection of Franklin and Northern Sierra Bonita Streets.
She was missing for five days before her body was found.
The coroner found that Tuesday’s announcement included the death of Perelman, who has appeared on television shows such as “General Hospital” and “Empire,” from sodium nitrite poisoning.
The actor’s representative, Michael Chiaverini, released a statement to TODAY after her body was found.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Lindsey Perlman today,” Schiafferini said. “The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time while they mourn and grieve.”
Lindsey’s cousin Savannah Perlman shared the missing person’s report at the time, and said she asked Lindsey’s sister to share the national suicide hotline number.
“I am so sad to report that they have found Lindsay, and it is too late,” she wrote. “I have no further information about the location or circumstance.”
Her cousin continued, “Lindsey was a fierce advocate for animals and a talented actress.” She added that donations in Perelman’s name can be made to the Sante D’or Pet Rescue and Adoption Center in Los Angeles.
Perlman’s husband, Vance Smith, also shared search updates, writing in an Instagram post at the time, “Police found Lindsay. She’s gone…I’m devastated.”
