DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas — Dripping Springs active brush fire, Firefighters working , in Dripping Springs Wednesday afternoon.

The Hays County Office of Emergency Management said it is doing emergency phone notifications to 10 homes to warn of possible evacuations.

North Hays Fire and Wimberley Fire firefighters are on the scene at the Storm Ranch property off Gatlin Creek Road.

The Hays County Office of Emergency Management said evacuations may be necessary as a precaution because the fire threatens homes in the area.

The command was conducting emergency telephone notifications for about 10 homes.

The fire is at 2,500 blocks of Gatlin Creek Road.

The crew asked the public to avoid the area until emergency crews could reach the scene.

A helicopter was dropping a bucket over the area, and the Texas A&M Forest Service was on its way with bulldozers and air resources.

Residents are asked to monitor emergency vehicles in the area.

A temporary evacuation shelter has been established at Dripping Springs Ranch Park at 1042 Event Center Drive.
