“Obviously this is a huge shock.

His loss left a debilitating rift in the lives of his mother, brother, three children and their mothers.”

“I’ve spent what feels like a little eternity trying to wrap my head around it, and it’s something I think I will try to do for the rest of my life.

But in the short time I’ve had to tackle it all, I’ve been able to put some words together that might help solve some of the questions you have.

And though it saddens me at all to have to write this, it gives me peace when I know I’m putting it out there.”

He continued, “We will never know how long he’s been fighting this war within himself, but last week, I used it all up, and he gave in by suicide.”

Darren later added, “While these falls in Chuck’s mental health are what took him, they are simply not something that could identify him.

All the wonderful, inspiring positive things about his life far outweigh the circumstances in which they ended up.”

In an accompanying statement, the Emmy award winner noted that his brother’s death “shattered his heart immeasurably” and was a “huge shock”.

Glee alum said his brother was his “close friend and companion” because they “discovered the world together”.

As they grew up, music became one of the “greatest bonds”.
