(sad inside out) The fire reportedly broke out in the antiques shop next door to the hotel, which is over 100 years old.
The fire is in the area of Holly known as Battle Alley.
The importance of alarm systems must be emphasized
The area earned the nickname more than 100 years ago, when so many trains stopped at Holly that saloons along Martha Street often squashed.
Images posted to Facebook shared by the Holy Downtown Development Authority appear to show a fire rising from the front of the building located at 100 Battle Alley.
Historic Holly Hotel, sad inside out
The status of the fire is currently unknown.
It is not known if there have been injuries.
“Our hearts are broken,” said Downtown Holly’s Facebook page.
-*-Andy Bliss, a bar and grill, reported on Facebook that the fire started behind the building on Tuesday. Business was expected to be closed until Wednesday.
-*-The owner of the Creative Fashions location next door posted that the fire also affected the hotel and Battle Alley Arcade Antiques.
-*-Fire officials Holly and Fenton confirmed they were helping at the scene but said they could not provide details.

-*-The phone line in the building was unavailable on Tuesday. Hotel officials did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
