Ovington, Virginia- Three people have been killed, including a Covington township police officer and a shooter, after an incident at Covington Farm and Fuel, according to Virginia State Police.

Covington City Police, the Ghanaian County Sheriff and Virginia State Police responded to the scene.
The shooting took place around 5 p.m. at Covington Farm & Fuel on Alleghany Street.
Police confirmed the killing of 3 people, including a police officer, the suspected shooter and a civilian.
An incident related to police activity closed part of Route 220 in Covington.

According to VDOT, Route 220 is closed at the intersection of Alleghany Street (Route 220) and South Monroe Street.
Virginia State Police, the Covington Township Police Department and the Rich County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
The Salem Field Office of the VSP’s Criminal Investigations Bureau is investigating the shooting.”
