Cheviot police chief Emmett Stone said one person was killed and two others were injured – one a child – following Cheviot shooting, 1 dead and 2 hurt early Wednesday morning in Cheviot.
Coroner’s office in Hamilton County confirms that they are responding to the 3700 block of Dena Street.
The shooting was reported at 3:09 a.m., according to county dispatchers.
Police announced the death of a person at the scene of a gunshot wound to the head.
A child sustained superficial physical injuries and was taken to hospital, according to police.
The shooting took place at 3746 Dina Street. Around 3:19 a.m., the baby was taken to Children’s Hospital and is expected to be fine.
A person was found dead upstairs, and the child referred to an unidentified third victim who has not yet been identified by the police.
The exact cause of the shooting is unknown, but Stone believes the child may have been an accidental shooting, and then the adult committed suicide.
Currently, Stone said, police are conducting an aerial search using drones to search for the third victim.
