Bomb threats at two locations
Lee County deputies are investigating bomb threats at two separate Publix supermarkets in Bonita Springs Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Lee County Sheriff Department, the threats were received by phone at Publix locations at 12900 Trade Way Four and 3304 Bonita Beach Road.
Bomb threats called in to Bonita Springs gas station, two Publix stores
Bonita Springs, Florida – Two public locations in Bonita Springs have been evacuated after reports of a bomb threat, authorities said.
Evacuations are not mandatory, according to a media officer from Bonita Springs Fire Control & Rescue District.
Traffic is congested near these locations and motorists are encouraged to look for an alternative route.
The second threat was called at 12900 Trade Way Four ten minutes later. Representatives said the threat at Trade Way Four has since been removed.
Additionally, a bomb threat has been called at the Sunoco gas station in front of the Bonita Beach Road Publix.
Bomb sniffing dogs were brought to both stores. Investigators said the threats came over the phone.
Traffic in the area is congested while the investigation continues. Representatives are asking drivers to avoid the area.
