Bollywood star KK passed away after performing a concert by the singer, whose full name is Krishnakumar Kunath, on Tuesday evening in Kolkata, India.

Thehindu.com reported that he fell ill while returning to his hotel after performing at Nazrul Manch.
He was singing for about an hour but said he felt unwell when he got back to the hotel.
He was taken to a private hospital in south Kolkata, but he did not survive despite the doctors’ efforts.
The Times of India reported that he had a heart attack.
“It is unfortunate that we were not able to treat him,” a senior hospital official said.
He was updating his Instagram page just eight hours before he fell ill.

It is understood that his wife and two sons will travel to Kolkata on Wednesday morning.
KK has recorded songs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali, among other languages.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the fans via Twitter.

He said, “sad on the untimely death of famous singer Krishnakumar Kunath, better known as KK.”
His songs reflected a wide range of emotions and struck a chord with people of all ages.
