Amtrak train collides with car in Northern California, At least 3 dead, authorities said.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred around 1 p.m. in Brentwood, about an hour’s drive southeast of San Francisco. Three people died at the scene. Two adults and a child were taken to hospitals but there was no immediate news of their condition, KRON-TV reported.

The victims were inside the four-door car when it was hit. The car came to rest 60 feet off the rails.

Officials said there were 80 people on board the Amtrak train, but no one was hurt.

The accident is under investigation.
