The Uvald Police Department did not immediately provide more information. It is unclear if anyone was injured in the shooting.

In the hour before that, police and the Uvalde Consolidate Independent School District notified parents of Robb Elementary School students about the reported suspect on campus.

There was a large police presence at the school, and the public was urged to avoid the area, according to a Facebook post from the police department.

A school official explained to ABC News that the shooting took place off campus, but that Robb Elementary School was under closure.

Students will be transferred to be escorted by parents at the sergeant.

Willie Dillion Civic Center, according to the Uvald Police Department.

The town’s police department has warned the public to avoid the school as the scene is still active.
