Abington, Mass. (WHDH) – Two people were displaced after a fire broke out in a single-family home in Abington early Thursday morning.

Firefighters battling house fire in Abington

A person has been hospitalized with serious injuries after a house on Lynwood Street in Abington, Massachusetts caught fire.

One of the passengers managed to get out of the burning house. Fire officials said the person was taken to Brockton Hospital.

The police have closed off the area.
The firefighters did not immediately see smoke or fire appearing from the outside of the house when they arrived, but soon after they found the house full of smoke and fire in the backyard.

The investigation is still ongoing.
