Lackland AFB shutdown lifted after morning alert, A US Air Force base has been closed after reports of gunfire near the facility.
The frightening warning was issued on Tuesday morning at Lackland Air Force Base at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.

Update 3: At 12:18 p.m., the JBSA announced that Air Force Security and San Antonio law enforcement had cleared the base at 11:35 a.m.
All personnel have been released from lockdown and are back to normal operations. Gates also returned to standard mode.
Second update: At 11:06 a.m., Joint Base San Antonio repeated the report of shootings outside the base, but near Lackland.
Although there is no threat to personnel, all facilities on Truemper Road, from Valley Hi to Carswell Avenue, remain closed while security forces complete their operations.
The individuals outside the encircled area were released, but the Valley Hi Gate was still closed.
JBSA is asking people to keep the area clear and says the base is working with SAPD to “ensure a safe environment”.
