- Kenosha, Wisconsin – A 12-year-old girl from Wisconsin has been charged with disorderly conduct after participating in a violent fight at school earlier this year.
- According to the girl’s lawyer, she was transferred with a similar punishment to probation, but she refused because she is not guilty.
- The fight took place on March 4 at Lincoln Middle School in Kenosha.
- A video clip captured part of the fight and showed an officer working in security that day using his knee on the girl when breaking up the fight.
Part of the conflict was videotaped, and a security officer that day used his knee on the boy to break up the fight.
- The officer has since resigned from the school district but remains in the Kenosha Police Force.
- The 12-year-old’s lawyer said the officer should have been charged because her client was a victim of police brutality and the charge against her appeared to be an attempt to silence her.
- A civil case has been filed against the officer and the head of the temporary police and school district, according to the girl’s lawyer.
