PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. A 4-year-old has been found safely after wandering away from Danville’s home after Pittsylvania County authorities and first responders spent the night searching.
According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, Wyatt is shaky, but fine and ready to be reunited with his family.
Officials say White was discovered with a neighbor’s dog about three-quarters of a mile from his home, an area different from the quarters that night crews searched.
Law enforcement officers and first responders from across Pittsylvania County — as well as other parts of Virginia — are working together to track down a missing 4-year-old boy who strayed from his Danville home on Tuesday night.
According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, the missing boy, Wyatt, has blonde hair and blue eyes.
Officials say the 911 call came at about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, saying that White walked away from his home along the Cedar Trail in Danville, but was not wearing any clothes at the time.
She told authorities that the White family had been looking for the boy for some time, but had not found him, so deputies responded and called in air support from the Virginia State Police.
While weather conditions forced air support to retreat, drones and K9 infrared units still searched the area for most of the night.
