1-year-old girl mom killed
COVINGTON, Georgia – A man shot and killed the mother of his child before taking their one-year-old daughter late Saturday night in Covington, Georgia, authorities say. They then say he killed the baby and the baby Sunday morning in Riverdale.
A one-year-old girl has been issued a ward alert that authorities say has been kidnapped and is in grave danger.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Jacary Bennett was taken from her Newton County home at about 11 p.m. Saturday by 38-year-old Darian Javaris Bennett.
Redlinger says they received a 911 call at about 11:14 p.m. to a house on Chandler Field Drive in Covington.
When they arrived, they saw the mother shot and the grandmother wounded by several bullets. The grandmother was taken to Atlanta Medical Center and her condition is unknown.
The grandmother was able to tell MPs that one-year-old Jacary Bennett had been kidnapped by 38-year-old Darian Javaris Bennett after he shot them.
The mother’s two older children, ages 11 and 12, were home when the shooting occurred.
Authorities told CBS46 Madeleine Montgomery that Darian followed a woman into her home, shot her in the head and killed her.
Then he allegedly shot her grandmother.
They were last seen outside Chandler Field Drive in Covington and are believed to be traveling in a 2000 Black Honda Accord with the Georgia tag RGK4146.
