1 killed in shooting at Houston
HOUSTON – Uh, police said, a suspect was arrested after a fatal shooting at an office building in Houston.
The shooting was reported on Wednesday at noon at 20 Greenway Plaza, located at the intersection of Cummins Street and Portsmouth Street.
In a 2 p.m. update, police said they arrested the suspect at a location separate from the shooting scene.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., the SWAT team responded to reports of the exact shooting at block 3800 of Cummins.
According to the Refugee Protection Agency, a person was shot at the scene and officials later pronounced him dead.
The public was asked to avoid the area while special forces and officers searched the building and the surrounding area for the suspected man.
The police did not say where the suspect was found, nor did they provide information on his identity.
The office building where the shooting took place houses businesses engaged in solar energy, investment banking, banking and other financial services.
People working on the building told FOX 26 that building management conducted active shooting training in October 2021.
