1 dead in construction accident

BOSTON — An investigation is underway after one person died and another was hospitalized following a construction accident at the seaport early Thursday morning, according to Boston police.
It happened at a location on North Avenue around 5:30 a.m.
An EMS spokesperson said in an email to WBZ-TV: “One individual has been declared unable to survive at the scene.
There was an additional patient who was transported by BLS ambulance to the district hospital.”
Several emergency crews are on the scene at 65 Northern Avenue near the Federal Courthouse.
Investigators placed yellow tape around a tractor trailer that appeared to be carrying a granite curb.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said it was informed of the incident and is investigating the incident.
The homicide unit along with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was asked to assist in the investigation, according to police.
